Can someone recommend a way to get DD-WRT KingKong on Asus RT-N16 router to get the 300 mbps rate which is possible on stock firmware? All my other settings are at default. Doing a file transfer shows the rate is almost double the speed as the DD-WRT KingKong firmware. Going back to Asus default firmware "version 3.0.0.4.374_168" from their website, I changed the settings to match the same as the ones above: inSSIDer shows channel 6+10, max rate 300 mbps, so everything works as it should. Wireless Security security = wpa2 personal algorithm = AES passkey = entered my passkey These changes don't seem to make any difference. Wireless -> Basic Settings changed to "N-Only" Wireless channel = 6 channel width = 40 extension channel = lower wireless SSID broadcast = disable 2. Going into the settings, I changed two screens: 1. At this point I have not changed a single setting. Using InSSIDer I see it is using a single channel (channel 1). Using this firmware: /p> Everything has been reset to factory defaults, router can't get higher rate than 144 mbps. I have Internet, Video & Landline service via Verizon, the only thing the Verizon Actiontec is even there for is to manage the Video, I have my own router plugged directly to the ONT thus bypassing the Actiontec for serving up the web. ISP = Verizon FiOS, Specially modded by Verizon and myself to run Ethernet over Ethernet instead of Ethernet over MoCA Thus being able to use my own router. My network configuration is as follows: 1. Or for that matter another brand that XXX-WRT does support bug free. As I do not want to really buy another R6300 v2. What I am interested in knowing, is there going to be a Stable, Clean version ever for the Netgear R6300 Version 1. Now as I was looking through the blogs and comments I noticed there were a lot of bugs in the latest versions for the R6300. I just recently purchased the infamous Netgear R6300 Dual Band Router, I totally love it, however after seeing the features that the XXX-WRT firmwares support above and beyond what Netgear offers I would like to run my Router on the WRT firmware.
