Sylenth1 is absolutely recommended to anyone who uses a lot of bread and butter sounds from virtual analogue synths. Unfortunately, there is no rent-to-own option from Splice or any other payment plan for Omnisphere either. It costs $499 USD so it isn’t cheap either. Until now only very few software synthesizers have been able to stand up to the sound quality standards of hardware synths. Sylenth1 is a virtual analog VSTi synthesizer that takes the definitions of quality and performance to a higher level.

As some have touched on I think what made it so popular would be just how easy it is to use, Its incredible sound quality, and perhaps most of all, its low CPU Usage. So Sylenth is a bit less hyped, albeit still heavily used. Good selection of filters, and the four oscillators are very versatile, capable of malleable waveforms, FM, AM, vocal tones, etc., and you can mix them any way you want. The reverb is great (as are the other FX), better than what comes with many DAWs. This is absolutely one of the best VSTs ever made. Immediately Massive comes up the winner here.

But you might like the sound of Sylenth1, or the workflow/GUI. Serum can do everything Sylenth1 can and more. Strictly speaking it’s not the best sounding of all modern softsynts, but it’s very easy to place in the mix for some reason.

So many sounds available for it and so many hits made with it. For electronic music it’s pretty much a must-have. It’s still a good synth, but depending on what genre ofcourse. Sylenth1 by LennarDigital – Plugins (VST, AU) | Splice. No matter how many modulation sources a synth has, they are useless they can be bound to a variety of parameters. Massive has all of the modulation sources that Sylenth has plus the option to change any of it’s 4 LFOs into step sequencers or performers. Yes, Sylenth1 is great for creating all kinds of basic sounds, but in contrast to Serum you actually can’t do that much with it. The overall functionality is probably the biggest difference between both synths.
